Today in two separate publications Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, who is the Chair of the Governors' Biofuels Coalition, and U.S. Senator Deb Fischer place opinion pieces on renewable fuels issues in Nebraska newspapers ahead of the upcoming summer months.
"We are very fortunate to have advocates like Senator Fischer and Governor Ricketts, said Mark Palmer, Executive Director, of Renewable Fuels Nebraska. "We are on the cusp of something special in Nebraska as we continue building our industry and its advocates; and Senator Fischer and Governor Ricketts are at the very top of that point -- they are our key champions, and we are both thrilled and proud of them," Palmer further stated.
Nebraska is home to two dozen plants producing ethanol. The most recent data produced by UNL suggests Nebraska’s capacity stands at 2,077 million gallons per year with actual production nearing 2,225 million gallons.
